Bearwood's choir participated in a fantastic event at the weekend - Mayor's Carol Concert at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre. They sang with many other school choirs alongside a band led by a live conductor. It was a great experience for the children and we are extremely proud of their efforts.
On Friday, some of our Year 5 and 6 football team took part in a football tournament. All the boys played very well and made it through to the semi-finals!
A big thank you to Mr Fisher and Mr Gurung for supporting the team at the tournament and Mr Bourke for his continued hard work preparing the boys during football training this half term.
Today, some of our children presented a brilliant BHM assembly. This year, the theme is 'Reclaiming Narratives', and at Bearwood we were reclaiming the narrative of Africa. The children shared aspects of Africa's vibrant culture. Ella-Grace, Elsie and Somto carried out their own research and put together an informative presentation. This included hearing them speak in their mother language with their siblings Dana-Rose and Chi. The assembly ended with an Afrobeats dance, when Rhema, Savannah and Joshua joined in. Rhema choreographed the dance and taught the others. It was an excellent assembly.

After school yesterday, some of our KS2 children have been at the Forest School for a tag-rugby festival, organised by School Games. The children have been learning about the fundamental skills required to play tag-rugby.
